Heroes of Might and Magic V is the latest installment of one of the more successful Might and Magic spin-offs. Since the demise of 3DO this latest installment was developed by Nival Interactive the same studio that produced Silent Storm. It has been hotly anticipated since its announcment a little over a year ago. I sat down with the game to see how it stands up compared to the venerable Heroes of Might and Magic games of the past.
I wanted to post this up to apologize about our recent downtime. Our host did not reset us as midnight as we should have been and our site had to be reset manually. Again, we apologize for the inconvience... but you (our readers) were greater in number than we imagined! You all rock! =)

One Fastball Special to go please! Even though it may not have the same effect as it does in the comic book, there is still nothing like seeing Wolverine get hurled by Colossus. X-Men: The Last Stand, or X3, starts off with a big bang and a big toss.
This third time around brings Magneto and his followers (aka The Brotherhood) up against Charles Xavier and his X-Men. A "cure" has been discovered for the mutant gene, and the race is on to save/destroy (depending which side you're on) the carrier of this antibody. Loaded with lots of special effects, action, a jam-packed script, lots of surprises and a ride on the emotional roller coasterâ€â€X3 is an intense experience.
The official press release from Nintendo landed in my inbox only seconds ago:
"May 25, 2006
Following its overwhelming debut at E3 2006, Nintendo today announced the current fiscal year unit shipment forecast for its new home game system, Wii™. Nintendo also confirmed that the price of the Wii system, which incorporates unique freehand control, will not exceed $250 in America, or ¥25,000 in Japan. The company plans to ship 6 million systems to retailers around the world between its launch in the fourth quarter of 2006 and the end of its fiscal year on March 31, 2007.
The projections are part of a full-year financial forecast that sees growth of 18 percent in sales globally, based on anticipated continuing strong demand for the Nintendo DSâ„¢ portable game system, as well as a successful launch for Wii.
The company also said it expects to sell 17 million Wii games in the period. Exact launch dates, identification of the launch library of titles and details on the unique Virtual Console aspect of Wii will be announced soon."
