Virtual Frontiers: Daniel Boone and the Hunters of Kentucky

Being born and raised in Kentucky I had to mention this upcoming PC game from HuntersofKentucky.com. The game takes place in 1774 and 1775 at the dawn of the Revolutionary War, when the first permanent settlements were established in Kentucky. Daniel Boone and friends work to settle in the new frontier, but Native American tribes like the Shawnee and Cherokee attempt to thwart the new settlements. The goal of the game is to give players an interactive and 3D gaming experience, while teaching players the history of early American settlers. A demo of the game is available at the Hunters of Kentucky website and the full version will be available for free download in March of 2009.

Tekken 6

The next installment of the widely popular fighting series is set for a release in the fall of 2009. Tekken 6, which is being developed by NAMCO BANDI and distributed by Atari will be available for the PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms. The game takes the Tekken series to new heights with HD graphics and 3D animations that make the game visually impressive. Tekken 6 also features the largest character roster in the game’s history. Thirty four classic characters team up with 6 new characters, each with their own fighting styles and combo moves. Play against players around the world in one of the multiple online game modes.Tekken 6 allows players to create and customize their own characters, so they can test their might in an online battle. An interesting feature is the interactive and destructible environments, which allows players to put their opponents through walls or randomly a car in the background will explode. I always liked the Tekken series and looks like this game may hold its own against the previous games in the franchise. (Thanks to Game Press)

The Godfather II New Release Date

Sadly, EA has chosen to push the release date of The Godfather II. The game will be available in the US on April 7th on in Europe on April 10th. An appealing feature of the game that EA calls “revolutionary” is Don’s View. Don’s View is a 3D look into the player’s crime family. While in Don’s View a player can plan strategy, decide which rivals to whack, and coordinate attacks on enemy compounds. This game better be worth the wait.

G.I. Joe

EA announced today that they are developing a G.I. Joe game to coincide with the upcoming theatrical release of G.I Joe: The Rise of Cobra. The game will released for all major consoles and hand-held devices this summer. “EA is excited to play a major role in bringing this icon of pop culture history to a new generation of enthusiasts through interactive gaming,” said Chip Lange, General Manager and Vice President of EA Hasbro. The game will pick up where the movie leaves off, so players can re-create and re-live their favorite parts from the film. There will be 12 G.I. Joe characters to choose from, with each character having their own special attributes, abilities, and weapons. Another interesting feature is the single-screen co-op mode, which allows players to team up to take down the evil COBRA organization. I only hope there are life lessons at the end of missions urging kids to look both ways before crossing the street. Because knowing is half the battle. The video is a PSA from the G.I. Joe TV series. MLB 2K9 Screenshots Round 2

2K Sports released its second set of screenshots for Major League Baseball 2K9 today. The shots feature more than cover boy Tom Lincecum with appearances from Ichiro Suzuki (Seattle Mariners), CC Sabathia (NY Yankees), Cole Hamels (Philadelphia Phillies), James Loney (LA Dodgers), and Juan Pierre (LA Dodgers). I hope this game lives up to all the hype, because I don’t recall playing a quality baseball game since All-Star Baseball ‘99 for N64. Click read more to check out the screenshots.
